Habanero Bacon Cheddar Stuffed Sliders - One Bite Challenge
Last week I posted a few promotional videos from the Kingsford Invitational. One of the videos showed me explaining what I would do if I were taking part in the Kingsford Invitational's "One Bite Challenge." In addition to the standard BBQ categories the teams also took part in a 5 ingredient appetizer challenge, called the One Bite Challenge. The rules were pretty simple: use 5 ingredients and make something awesome. Well, the guys at Kingsford decided that they wanted some of us Kingsford bloggers to put together a 5 ingredient appetizer recipe and have a little competition of our own on Kingsford's Grilling.com. For my entry I decided to make Bacon Cheddar Stuffed Cheeseburgers! Using only 5 ingredients I put together the following: slider buns, ground beef, bacon, habanero cheddar cheese and Worcestershire sauce. Check out this slider recipe! It's easy, tasty and spicy!
Start by collecting your 5 ingredients. The habanero cheddar cheese is pretty popular. It should at least be in any grocery store that carries a large variety of cheeses. I found mine in the regular old cheese section.
Since these are sliders you will want about 3 oz of ground beef. This is much bigger than a standard slider but it is much smaller than my normal stuffed burgers. I prefer 80/20 beef because it makes a nice juicy burger. Take 3 oz of ground beef and place it in the palm of your hand. Using your other hand flatten it out. Then using your fingers slowly curl your hand up into a cup or bowl shape. Take a lot of cheese and crumbled bacon and fill that meat "bowl." Trust me, you want to overfill this slider. It may seem like too much but you will be rewarded with each bite. The goal when you stuff a burger or a slider should be that each bite gets some of the stuffing.
Once the cheese and bacon is placed in the slider close your hand even more to form the beef around the cheese and bacon. See the photo above. Then smooth out the top of the patty by pressing and forming it together. Pack it around in your hand and make sure that it is sealed. Cheese can squirt out if you don't have a good seal.
Once the patties are formed get the Worcestershire sauce and generously apply it all over. Flip them and apply some more. These can be wrapped and stored in the refrigerator for a few hours. When you are ready to grill the sliders pull them out of the fridge.
Prepare your grill for a medium/medium high heat. Grill the sliders over direct heat until they are done (about 10-15 min). The nice thing about grilling a stuffed burger or slider is that they are hard to overcook. Since the middle is juicy bubbly cheese and bacon you can't really dry it out! Don't forget to toast the buns!
Oh man! The cheese and bacon are really oozing out of this slider! Each bite is spicy cheesy bacon beefy bliss!

Its fun reading it, remember myself when doing it, but time consuming. I just bought patty maker equipment and I am very truly happy I made a right decision, Well it only costs small dollars. It makes me faster and thickness of patty are the same, not bulgy,
great thing with equipment is you can compress the beef patty.
