Equipment

  • 1 Pellet Smoker or grill
  • 1 9x13 aluminum pan
  • 1 Slot Dog

Ingredients

  • 12 Jumbo Hot Dogs or Polish Sausage ¼ pound or larger
  • ¼ cup Beer Mustard
  • ¼ cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp BBQ Dry Rub
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 stick Butter

Instructions

  • Preheat the pellet grill to 250 degrees F.
  • Using the slotdog press down on the hot dogs to leave score marks. This is an optional step but it looks really cool and it allows more smoke and rub into the meat.
  • Next, place the hot dogs in a 9x13 pan and coat with beer mustard then sprinkle on your favorite dry rub. Once the dogs are seasoned place the dogs directly onto the grates on the pellet grill and smoke for 1 hour.
  • Once the dogs have developed a crust remove them from the grill and cut them into thirds. Place the hot dog burnt ends back into the same 9x13 pan and top with brown sugar, honey, bbq sauce, and sliced butter.
  • Take the hot dogs back to the smoker and cook for another 30-45 minutes until the hot dogs have a deep mahogany color.
