Pellet Grill Butterflied Chicken Legs

This Simple Hack takes normal Smoked Chicken Legs and makes them so much better. The butterflied Chicken leg method cooks faster and gives the chicken a much better texture. Give it a try and I know You will agree!!!

  • Preheat the Pellet Grill to 350 Degrees F.
  • Pat the chicken legs dry using a paper towel then make 2 vertical cuts running along each side of the bone so that the bone is exposed, and the sides are butterflied open.
  • Coat the chicken legs with avocado oil then season on all sides with your favorite dry rub.
  • Place the drumsticks on the grill skin side up for about 15 minutes before flipping over and cooking for another 15 minutes. 
  • Once the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. baste with bbq sauce and cook for about 5 minutes. Flip one last time basting the other side and cook for a final 5 minutes before serving.

Serving size 1 drumstick
Store leftovers for 3-4 days in a sealed container
Freeze for up to 90 days (reheat in air fryer or oven for best results
