Prepare the Salad by thinly slicing iceberg lettuce and onion adding to a large bowl. Next add mayonnaise, deli hots, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, banana peppers along with salt and pepper to taste. Toss to combine and chill in the fridge.
Cut your bread in half and scoop out some of the extra bread to make room for the mounds of meat. Drizzle both sides with olive oil then top with Italian seasoning, parmesan, and red chili flakes if you like a little kick. Bake for 3-5 minutes at 400 degrees F. just long enough for a light toast as we will crisp up the bread again after we add the meat and cheese.
Begin stacking your cold cuts, fold or crinkle up the slices to add texture and height to the sandwich. Once your meat mountain is piled high layer on the cheese and bake in the oven with the sandwich open faced for 6-8 minutes at 400 degrees F.
Place large skewers into the sandwich and slice into as many portions as desiredÂ
