This might be the easiest thing in the world to make. I can't believe it has taken me this long to find it! Bacon wrapped cream cheese might be the perfect tailgate appetizer.
Preheat your oven to 375 and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Line up the bacon and bake until it is done (about 15-20 min). Add some black pepper to the bacon for some extra pop before it goes into the oven. Using a baking sheet in an oven will keep the bacon straight without having it curl up, which allows you to use it in this recipe. It might be harder to do in a frying pan, but you probably can still pull it off.
Once the bacon has cooked, let it cool. I line a big plastic container with the bacon, which keeps it straight in the fridge. Take some cream cheese and carefully smear it on the bacon. These can be transported to the tailgate for an appetizer or snacked on immediately! I bet adding some sliced Italian sweet peppers to the cream cheese would take this over the top.
Bacon wrapped cream cheese has the perfect nutritional profile for a ketogenic low carb diet. Moderate protein, high fat and almost no carbs. I believe I first heard of this bacon wrapped cream cheese idea on the 2ketodudes podcast.
