Ingredients for Pellet Grill Smoked Cheez Its
Crackers: You can't with this recipe without 5 cups of Cheez its. You can use an off-brand name if you'd like. However, I haven't tried it and am personally loyal to the brand name Cheez-its.
Butter: The binder! This 4 tbsp of butter acts as the binder holding all that delicious flavoring to that cheesy cracker.
How to Make Pellet Grill Smoked Cheez Its at Home
Preheat your pellet grill. Preheat the Pellet Grill to 200 degrees F.
Add dry ingredients to a bowl. In a large bowl add in your Cheez its, along with dill weed, ranch seasoning, and bbq rub.
Melt and Stir. Melt a ½ stick of butter in the microwave for about 45 seconds then pour over the cheez its. Gently stir the cheez its so they are evenly coated with the butter and seasoning then evenly spread them out onto a 9x13 foil pan.
Smoke. Place the pan in the pellet grill off to one side so it's not directly over the heat source. Cook for one hour stirring every 20 minutes.
How Long to Smoke Cheez Its
After only 5 minutes of prep, you will have a 1 hour smoke time on your smoked Cheez Its.
I think after 1 hour, they came out perfectly.
However, if you are maybe at the level of a "smoking enthusiast," you are passionate about smoke time and temperatures ... and with that passion comes a lot of variations to time and temperature.
I have heard of people smoking them for as little as 45 minutes and a max of 2 hours.
Personally, I think the 1-hour mark is the smoking sweet spot for Cheez its.
I'd say, do what you are comfortable with, but I definitely don't recommend exceeding 2 hours.
How to Store Smoke Cheez Its
Storing your Pellet Grill Smoked Cheez Its is honestly the easiest thing you will do for the day.
Grab a Ziploc bag and toss them in!
You can leave your Cheez Its on the counter for up to 2 weeks.

This can be a very personal decision because everyone has different tastes and tastebuds.
I almost always use Kingsford signature blend pellets when I smoke because they give me a very balanced smoky flavor.
However, if you are new to smoking and looking for something more "universal," I recommend using Treager's Hickory.
