Outback Steakhouse Baked Potato Recipe

I love Outback Steakhouse’s baked potatoes. They magically get the salt to stick to the skin. It took me a few months to figure this one out but I think I’m pretty close.

Ingredients

Russet Potato
Kosher or Sea Salt
Melted butter

Melt a little bit of butter in a small bowl. About a tablespoon, maybe a bit less. Then use a brush and paint the skin of your potato with the butter. Liberally sprinkle the salt on the skin of the potato and bake at 425 degrees for 1 hour.

  1. I was a server at outback the potatoes are smothered in butter and buried and packed in sea salt and cooked in a warming drawer for hours. When they come out they are caked in salt which is why you get that crust of salt on the outside.
