Outback Steakhouse Baked Potato Recipe
I love Outback Steakhouse's baked potatoes. They magically get the salt to stick to the skin. It took me a few months to figure this one out but I think I'm pretty close.
Ingredients
Russet Potato
Kosher or Sea Salt
Melted butter

Melt a little bit of butter in a small bowl. About a tablespoon, maybe a bit less. Then use a brush and paint the skin of your potato with the butter. Liberally sprinkle the salt on the skin of the potato and bake at 425 degrees for 1 hour.

The picture above shows the potato before baking. To see the finished product check out my New York Strip Steak recipe page.

Do you wrap the potato in foil while baking, or bake unwrapped?

I was a server at outback the potatoes are smothered in butter and buried and packed in sea salt and cooked in a warming drawer for hours. When they come out they are caked in salt which is why you get that crust of salt on the outside.

That sounds about right I worked at a different steak house and they also kept the potatoes in a warming drawer. the salt crust really makes them tasty!!
