Peach Bourbon BBQ Sauce

Peach Bourbon BBQ Sauce is one of my favorite sauces to use on Pork Ribs but it’s also fantastic on chicken and salmon. If you want to impress your friends and family with a bbq sauce you can say is homemade give this a try.

Ingredients and Substitutions

  • Ketchup: Im a Heinz guy but use whatever you like
  • Peach preserves: You can also use canned or fresh peaches
  • Bourbon: use apple juice if you don’t want to use alcohol in the recipe
  • Brown sugar: You can use light or dark brown sugar. or a 4 to 1 mixture of white sugar and molasses
  • Apple cider vinegar: you can also use white vinegar
  • hot honey: I like it spicy but you can always use pure honey if you prefer
  • Worcestershire: “Wash your Sister Sauce”
  • Grenadine: I use this mostly for color, skip it if you don’t like red 40
  • BBQ rub: Use your favorite, there are so many good ones out there its hard to 
    go wrong.

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a pan simmer for five minutes on low until the sauce begins to bubble. Whisk to smooth and removed from heat.
  • Let sauce cool down to room temp before poring into containers or jars

Notes

Notes*
The sauce will seem very thin at first, but once it cools down, it will thicken. If possible I recommend making the day before so you can refrigerate it.
Should last for at least six weeks in the fridge in a sealed container.
* you can skip the grenadine if you don’t want to use red dye, I mainly use it to add color to the sauce.
