Grilled Fluffernutter Paninis?! Yeah boy! Obviously we grill the main course but who said we can’t grill the dessert as well? This is a simple recipe that is quite tasty. You get the crisp buttered bread and an oozing chocolate hazelnut peanut butter marshmallow mess dripping out of the inside. It’s perfect. Check this out:
Preheat your grill for a medium low heat. The goal here is to toast the bread while melting the inside. The easiest way to do this is to drop the temperature and give it a little bit more time.
Cut the italian bread into thin ¼ inch to ½ inch slices. Butter one side.
Assemble the Nutella hazelnut spread, marshmallow fluff and peanut butter.
Try not to eat too much of the Nutella while spreading it on the bread!
Spread that marshmallow fluff on top and then add some peanut butter.
Once assembled, place the Grilled Fluffernutter Paninis over direct medium low heat and they should be ready to flip after about 5 minutes. You can always slide a spatula under the panini to make sure things aren’t burning. When the bread is toasted appropriately, flip it over and repeat.
We even tossed some sliced strawberries on some of them! This worked out really well. I think this would be even better if I used a brioche or other type of sweeter bread. Italian bread worked well, though. The grill might look a little messy in the photos above but the marshmallow fluff burns off quick. No mess at all.
