Sadly im not a big fan of burger kings onion rings themselves so I decided I needed to make my own version of the zesty sauce at home.
Im proud to say I knocked this copycat recipe out of the park and once you try it you'll never have to go to Burger King again…unless you want to of course. This homemade onion ring sauce is the ultimate condiment and you'll find it in my fridge at all times.

Sure, you can go to the store and buy onion ring sauce, or you can beg the local Burger King to throw you a few extra packets of sauce.
You could also just make some ring sauce at home, and it will be even better, and you will never have to beg for extra sauce again!
Onion ring sauce is not just for onion rings; far from it. While it is, of course, a delicious spicy dipping sauce for onion rings or onion petals, there are lots of things that are made even better with this sauce recipe.
You can put this sauce on hot dogs, sandwiches, wraps, and even salads. It’s great for dipping too!
You can dip smoked chicken wings, Hot Dogs, mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, french fries, sweet potato fries, and celery in this sauce too.

Dipping Sauce for Onion Rings ingredients
You don’t need much to make this onion ring sauce, and you probably already have everything that you need at home.
This is a mayonnaise-based sauce, so you will need:
- mayonnaise
- ketchup
- horseradish
- pickle juice
- honey
- cajun seasoning
- smoked paprika
If you don’t have pickle juice, you can use the same amount of white vinegar in its place.

If you want your sauce to be a bit spicier, you can add a little more horseradish. Be sure to taste test of course.
How to make Onion Ring Sauce
Whisk all of your ingredients together in a small bowl, and you will have your very own supply of zesty onion ring sauce!
As mentioned, if you like your ring sauce with a kick, you can add more horseradish to the recipe. You can also add a small amount of cayenne pepper to the sauce.

I prefer to store this sauce in a Plastic squeeze bottle so it's ready to use right out of the fridge. You can store this sauce in the fridge for about 2 weeks. I do not recommend freezing this sauce so only make a batch size you can use.
